Stucchi offers solutions for one of the most common problems when operating skid steer loaders, which is overheating when performing heavy-duty applications. This is often due to the OEM couplers installed on the machine, which are not equipped to handle processes like land clearing and mulching. Overheating is a big problem, and OEM couplers are the main source of the issue.
Stucchi Solutions with VEP Couplers
Stucchi provides hydraulic solutions for many equipment models, with brand-specific auxiliary and conversion kits that upgrade from OEM couplers to support heavy-duty, high-flow performance. One brand-specific solution we deliver is upgrading a Takeuchi skid steer to be able to use our VEP Series Threaded Flat Face Couplers. Watch this video to see how to upgrade your Takeuchi machine to convert to our 1” quick disconnect thread-to-connect VEP couplers.
By installing Stucchi’s auxiliary kit for the Takeuchi skid steer, you can experience many benefits such as:
- Decrease in operating temperature by up to 15%
- Increase in productivity by increasing runtime
- Increase in efficiency by switching attachments quicker
Stucchi’s VEP series allows for connection and disconnection with residual pressure, which provides faster attachment change over time.
How to Convert a Takeuchi Machine to Use VEP
Follow these steps to convert a Takeuchi machine to use Stucchi’s VEP couplers:
- Make sure there is no residual pressure on the machine. Have the key on with the engine not running and cycle the valves to relieve pressure.
- Remove any couplers or brackets in the way that impede access to the couplers. You will need significant room to unthread couplers from the block.
- Use a wrench to disassemble the OEM couplers from the block. Be aware that oil will probably spill out, so have a rag handy to catch spilled fluid.
- Thread the VEP couplers by hand into the block and torque with a wrench
- Install anything that was removed to gain access. Check for leaks and then turn on the machine and again make sure there are no leaks.
- Now, you can connect attachments to the machine and check for normal function.
If you choose to use coupler dust caps, make sure that the Loop is between the thread and the block before you install Stucchi’s VEP threaded, flat-face couplers to make sure they stay on the machine well-connected.
